116 Tennyson Street, Napier, New Zealand
SPA_CE first opened its doors in Cathedral Lane, December 2014. Initially the gallery exclusively showed work from artist Martin Poppelwell.
In the following years the gallery has hosted a number of artists across a range of mediums, they include Ann Shelton, Deborah Smith, Derek Henderson, Jeff Thomson, Emma McIntyre, Freeman White, Bronwynne Cornish, Gavin Hurley and Dick Frizzell.
Entering its fourth year the gallery has a new space. It was once a mechanics garage in Napier’s Tennyson Street, Salmon Motors. The original building pre-dated the Napier earthquake in 1931 and was rebuilt in the Art Deco style.
